Re: The so-called solution to AO3's tag policy

No idea what most people do, but I keep reading up till reveals. I have holiday stuff to do so I can't just sit down and read all day the instant the archive opens, I read stories I might not have otherwise gotten to based on recs, and I like a lot of fandoms so I always have quite a lot of stories I'd at least like to take a look at.

Also, though I do open tabs, I don't automatically and only open tabs for every story I mean to check out. It gets too unwieldy. I open a few tabs, then do the rest of my reading by returning to the main page and browsing fandoms whenever I feel like reading.

I only read a couple stories in the early hours but I've gone through everything and bookmarked what I want to read fairly quick.

I usually open fandoms by tab and then choose what to read from those, so unwrangled fandoms would definitely be missed.

This is me as well. I tend to read in a lot of big for Yuletide fandoms, so I have a lot to read, and I end up reading through over the full week.

Yuletide also gets exposure in some higher-profile places than other AO3 exchanges (e.g. usually gets linked on Metafilter) and has a lot of participants who *only* do Yuletide and may be more casual about when and how they browse the collection.
