Some fic prompts lend themselves to cameo-only appearances for one or two of the full set of requested characters. Unless that was the only character you requested and they got relegated to a walk-on like in the Gay-Bashing Dragon fic, it's kind of jerkish to report someone for not being able to work in Character X for more than a line or two in a fic starring A, B, and C. GBD-fic would make sense to report. I received one of those one year and didn't report it because what the fuck ever. My writer got a thank you for writing for me.

Yeah. I also think if you've very clearly given A/B and C/D prompts that don't mesh then mods *might* get you an EPH to avoid wank, but I doubt they'd punish the writer.

AYRT. I asked for the equivalent of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, with Pansy. My prompt was to do anything, so long as there was interaction, because I was interested in how they all played together in the universe (like worldbuilding, but with characters).

I got 3K of HRH, with a brief non-dialogue cameo by Pansy.

I reported and author was banned for a year. She never came back. I'm not sorry.

This is why I never offer more than three (though usually two) characters. There are so many cases where making 4+ characters just doesn't work, and that only ends in frustration and unhappy recipients.

This is why you should never offer Any, folks.

Yeah, because some recipients are jackasses.

Yeah, but in that case they explicitly went against your prompt. I think it's a bit different when someone leaves only prompts for A/B OR C/D.

Well, I'm glad I never offer more than three characters.
