She has messaged me on Goodreads (because she recognized my name from Yulechat) and shown up in a group I participate in on FetLife (where fortunately I use a different handle, so she wasn't able to do the "hi! I recognize you! let's be friends!" thing). She may not show up often in fandom any more, but she seems to show up everywhere else I go on the Internet--and she talks endless about her physical and mental health problems in those spaces, too.

I've known her through various internet and non-Yuletide things for about 13 years now (holyshitiamold), and she has ALWAYS been this way. Believe me, I have nothing but sympathy for people with chronic health issues. (I have one too, though thankfully not as severe anymore. And I have taken care of family members with them as well.) But she absolutely leans on it and uses it as an excuse in a way that makes me furious. It's like, if you didn't know her, you might not think this way, but when you've been around her as long as I have... ugh.

Funny story though, years ago my friend (who also knew her) and I were traveling near where she lives and she was trying to get my friend to meet up with her, but not me. So apparently she is no fan of me. (I have NO clue why. She just didn't give a shit whether she met me or not.) Said friend told her we were way too busy and was polite about it, but it was... odd.
