Try opening all the works, searching for the characters you requested, and checking out what fandoms the results are in with the fandom drop-down thing. Sometimes that's the fastest way to shake out a weird tag synning thing leading to a fandom name you're not expecting.

(Or if one work shows up and there's no fandom in the drop-down, it suggests the work is in a fandom that hasn't been made canonical yet.)

(Er, opening the list of all the works, I mean. This link: http://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2016/works and then put a character's name into Search Within Results and see what shakes out.)

Tag wrangler here. I'm not going to log out to double check but I'm pretty sure this is something I've been doing since before I became a wrangler.

1. Go here http://archiveofourown.org/tags/search

2. Type in what should be the name of your fandom or the name of the character(s) if you think the fandom name will end up being changed to something else.

3. If there have been fics posted to AO3 using that fandom/character(s)/relationship(s) or freeform, they will show up. The (#) at the end tells you how many works use that tag.

4. Depending on which of your fandoms do or don't have fics in conjunction with which of your characters do or don't have fics, this is how you can shake and narrow down your unwrangled fandoms.

Nice! I have a couple gifts in a fandom that got synned to a really big parent tag and I can confirm that the more specific tags are showing up this way.

(Any idea why the tags might say there's N works using the tag, but only N-1 unrevealed works show up when I click through? There's nothing with the tag posted on AO3 currently....)

One of them is an unpublished draft.
