The likelihood it is you is small I would think. Besides, if it is you, take heart. The only way to learn things is have them pointed out.

When I first started writing my editor was brutal. He killed everything. The red lines were literally the stuff of my nightmares. The brutal comments in the margins of my typewritten pages that I then had to type all over again...awful. Editing with computers is better because once you fix something it's done and gone. You don't have to see the red anymore.

I will take heart, then. (I also went back and looked at the fic I sent out to a spreadsheet beta - there are a lot of similarly constructed sentences [two clauses with a comma between] in the first three paragraphs, but not every sentence.)
