I was super surprised that Ballet Shoes has no requests this year - it’s one of my perennial offers.

Yeah, darlas_mom was the sole reason I didn't offer or request the fandom. I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to ask for what they want, but with a fandom like this and a ship like this (which is canon in other versions) I can't help but feel resentful that they're ruining it for others.

This is like that other person who was pissed someone asked for one half of a BL pairing, except somehow this thread is even more entitled.

Like... you can work out a story for this fandom that has some happy ending fluff but that...I don't see happening.

I can understand that people can't help resentment, but the idea that someone is "ruining it for everyone" is fucking obnoxious. Just default on the small chance you get that person FFS.

Start writing whatever you want if it gets close. You're not even obliged to nudge them through the mods if you don't want to.

Except this person IS requesting both halves of the ship, so no, not the same.

Worst: They only want Awesome Ladies Kicking All The Ass gen and requested one character with no comments about relationships/friendships.

Best: They want my rare ship in a certain fandom that probably won't be eligible next year.

They're the same in that they're both entitled and whiny as fuck over someone else not liking their ship and daring to request what they actually want to receive instead.

Worst: All they want is either kid fic or case fic.

Best: I get to write frenemy father and son fic.

You have a very low threshold for "whiny as fuck".

Best: They ship my ship, they want casefic, they share my likes. There are a bunch of requests like this for the fandoms I offered, so here's hoping.

Worst: They didn't put up a letter, so I didn't know to avoid them. They're requesting Nominated Character/Unnominated Character and it's a ship that really squicks me. Their only prompt is porn for their ship, and their requests suggest that they will be watching the PH list and will be suicidally depressed if they show up there again, or if their author goes ODAO.

Worst: someone who only wants sibcest

I would say "someone who DNWs the juggernaut is ruining the exchange for others" definitely counts.

There is no worst, because I only offered fandoms that had letters up for each request. I was a little nervous someone new would sign up in the last few hours with a request I couldn't write, but that didn't happen.

Best is that I match to the person who managed to prompt something I'd already been working on, and I get to write them the very specific, very niche thing we were both somehow dreaming of.

Newsflash: Not everyone is comfortable with writing shit just to get their assignment out of the way.

Worst: Probably that person who didn't want sibcest for that one children's canon.

Best: The person who wants sibcest in that one children's canon! Or the person who likes exactly the same things I like about that other canon. Or some other request I haven't seen, because like half of them have no letters.
