I can think of a couple, but I check their letters to make sure it won't come up.

If you mean nebulous "somebodies", then somebody who was openly racist/homophobic/misogynist.

Holy shit, I just posted about a batshit Lovecraft person in the "letters that make you question your signups" thread. This is the one with the letter about how they want smut, but nothing "pro-sex" or "pro-natalist," right? Is this person for real?!

Last year I would have said anyone who had zero optional details, but I stuck that one out and it turned out okay.

So I'll say anyone who tries to sneak het or F/M/M into their letter where they only requested Dude A and Dude B. I wouldn't want to ODAO since they obviously don't want slash, so I'd just default instead.

Impertinence. She's not known for bad behavior during Yuletide, but I have avoided her in the past, when our fandoms match up too much, because she's incredibly wanky and I would not feel comfortable writing for her.

I HOPE THAT HELPS. obviously optional details are optional, and honestly I’ve never really gotten a gift I didn’t like, so go nuts. If none of this rings your bell, follow your bliss. In general I’d rather get a fic that you wanted to write, that doesn’t match my details, than one that adheres to my details but that you didn’t enjoy writing. good luck!!!!

I know she's wanky, but I'd rather write for someone with this in their letter than one of those exacting people with a mile-long list of dislikes.

Ugh, I get not wanting to be involved with her, but comments like this annoy me because they just lead to the kind of shit I hate most about her. She is absolutely reading this or, if not, one of her friends is, and it's just going to prompt her to link to it, or better yet, refer to it vaguely without context, and use it to try and suck more sympathy out of her followers. After all, she's just SUCH A MARSHMALLOW. She HATES CONFLICT. Why would anyone want to avoid a TINY SHY BB like her.

Of all the things she's chomping at the bit to wank about, Yuletide isn't one of them. Find a better avenue for your Imp grudge, and I'll wank away with you, I promise.

Generally I would try my best to write for anyone, unless they were absolutely awful (racist, homophobic etc.) in their letter or had such bizarre prompts that I couldn't write anything they'd like no matter how hard I tried.

Honestly, I get that the wook wank was a big deal one year, but I feel like saying you'd default on her is really excessive. The problem that year was that the author decided to write her first ever BDSM fic (which wook didn't specifically request) and also intentionally went against a (minor, yes) detail that wook made clear she wanted to go a certain way. It was, for all intents and purposes, coal. Just because she didn't swallow it and Cult of Nice about it doesn't mean she's going to wank about a story that actually tries and doesn't do anything that could be easily construed as trolly.

untherius, wook77, TCC, and to say one that no body has said, that rainbowkitten chick.

The combo of all white males and the bullshit "I'll take whatever you'll give, but really no I won't because I want no gen or friendship and definitely smut with all my kinks listed here" nature of her letter turned me off. That and the obvious "Oh you can write females too I guess" she added in as an afterthought.

Maybe I'd just write her coal. Sucks because we actually match on AHS, so I'm praying I don't get her.

I'd default on nice people whose requests I felt unable to write.

If I got someone I disliked for personal or wank reasons, I'd write them ... maybe not coal, but at least an undersized sweater. Defaulting risks them getting a pinch hit from and raising the chance of treats from a writer who genuinely tries to write them all their favorite things.

bipagan. That one letter was weird and wanky, which I can deal with, but I wouldn't be able to handle writing for someone who vaguely implies that not writing exactly to their details might make them kill themselves.

I defaulted on franzeska once in an entirely different exchange because I got in an argument with her at Yuletide over one of my nominations. Every time I opened the assignment and saw her name it pissed me off so I gave up.

No one. I'd suck it up and deal, and then orphan the fic so I don't have to be associated with it. The only way I'd default is if the person is requesting something that is truly horrendous, like Springtime for Hitler (and meaning it in an ironic way).

The person whose prompts are basically all about trans headcanons. The writer seems nice and says ODAO, but I suspect that anything I wrote wouldn't make them happy, which is why I'm not offering those fandoms now.
